This week, Aspire proudly celebrated the ribbon cutting of one of our fully renovated Community Homes, marking a significant step forward in accessible living for people with disabilities.
Designed with universal accessibility in mind, this home features widened doorways and hallways, a fully renovated kitchen and bathroom, an open floorplan, and accessible additions like a chair lift and ramp. Every detail was created to support safety, comfort, and true independence – and we’re proud to keep raising the standard of what’s possible.
To mark this exciting occasion, we were honored to welcome several of our incredible state and local government champions, including Senator Kimberly Lightford, State Representative Nicole La Ha, and State Representative Diane Blair-Sherlock.
These leaders took time to speak, tour the space, connect with Aspire team members, and meet the residents who now call this beautifully renovated house their home.
Their presence and partnership speak volumes: they’re not just supporters, they’re champions of meaningful progress. By showing up, engaging with our team, meeting the residents, and experiencing the transformation firsthand, they reinforced their commitment of helping to build a world where everyone has the opportunity to not only live, but to thrive.
We’re incredibly thankful for their continued belief in our mission, and we know this work wouldn’t be possible without advocates like them by our side.
NBC 5 Chicago was also on-site to capture the celebration and share it with their viewers! To watch the full segment on NBC 5 Chicago’s website, please use this link.
This is just the beginning. With every home we transform, we’re expanding the possibilities for people with disabilities to live with pride, purpose, and independence.
