Aspire has 5 people running on October 12, 2025, and raising funds to benefit our mission!

Stay tuned for ways you can participate in the celebration. The Aspire Family will be there with a cheer section on that day!

Rudy Orozco

I’m running for Aspire because I believe deeply in the work we do. Every day, I see firsthand the meaningful impact Aspire has on the lives of the people we support. Running the marathon is a way for me to carry that mission beyond the walls of our organization, raising awareness and funds to help us continue making a difference.

Seth Kussmal

I’ve been an avid runner for many years, running races from 5K to 100 miles. This will be my first Chicago marathon and first big race with such a large spectator base. In many of my ultra marathons, I end up running solo and may go an hour or more without seeing anyone, so I am really looking forward to all of the spectators and energy that comes along with such a big race.

When I was approached about running for Team Aspire, I was excited not only to run the Chicago marathon, but also for the opportunity to raise money for a great organization. Having grown up in a household of school administrators and also working with and in school districts for my entire professional career, I understand the benefits of a group like Aspire and the opportunities it can provide for people with disabilities.

Mike Donovan

Hello! My name is Mike Donovan and I am very excited to be participating in my first marathon. In preparation, I have run hill repeats on Bears game days to honor Walter Payton, completed a triathlon, hit many 6 am workouts, and logged miles along the lakefront trail.

I’m especially excited to race alongside my older brother Jack who encouraged me to take on this challenge. Thank you for supporting a great cause and look for me wearing my striped headband on race day!

Aspire has been close to my heart since I started volunteering there back in high school in 2011. Since then, I’ve stayed involved through their Associate Board, helping to run awesome events like Sunday Funday and other fundraisers.

This will be my 8th marathon and part of my mission to complete all six World Marathon Majors (five down, Tokyo 2026 this coming March to go!) from the American Red Cross and American Cancer Society to the MS Society and more. Aspire is doing life-changing work, and I’m proud to be part of their team.

Running gives me freedom and clarity, allowing me to connect with my thoughts while pushing my physical limits. This will be my fifth full marathon and the first since 2016. For me, the training is the joy, and the race itself is simply a celebration of that effort.

Running for Aspire makes this training and race special, adding purpose to my steps by helping those in need. It turns my personal goals into something greater, reminding me that the finish line is for everyone I run for.
