Meet Michael

Determined to find a job after a long year of isolation, members of an inclusive community were there to help Michael find his way to Mariano’s.

Employment for people with disabilities is key. Their job becomes part of who they are, and it creates new networks of opportunity to build up a sense of self-worth.

Beginning in the pre-pandemic days, Michael was determined to get a job in the community. When he finished Aspire’s fast-track employment program, he turned his dream into a reality by way of Mariano’s. He recently began working at the local grocery store and Michael thrives in his customer-service facing role. He’s known for his friendly demeanor and ability to complete every task with an enthusiastic thumbs up! 

“We’ve worked hard to create an inclusive work environment where every associate can be their best self every day and make the most of their abilities,” mentioned Mariano’s representative, Amanda.
