Michelle’s incredible spirit is something that is felt by anyone around her and her story is reflective of just that. In recent years, she has faced a number of challenges that brought her away from Aspire and left her bound to a wheelchair, but her resiliency is something that remains unbroken.
Now back as a member of the Aspire family, Michelle currently lives in a community home in the Aspire network and has been regaining a lot of her independence. In order to accommodate her accessibility, Aspire completely renovated her home to ensure an accessible living space where she is able to complete a number of tasks on her own.
I like it. I feel like this is my home base. – Michelle
With the help of some generous donors, Aspire was also able to open its first fully accessible community home this past October. It is Aspire’s goal to not only make this an aspiration for all housing, but a standard across the board.
